The song that comes immediately to mind for me is John Lennon's "Imagine." The lyrics would not change very much from his own: click on the title and listen while you read: for those not sure how to do this, simply click control and c to save Imagine as a link, then minimize this screen, open a new browser window, click control v in your url address bar, click play for the video, minimize the video and reopen the minimized blog window. Read the lyrics below while listening:
Imagine there's no heaven illness
Its easy if you try
No hell below us pain within
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Ahaha…
Imagine there’s no country diagnosis
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for hurt or cry
And no religion too prescription
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions depression
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger pills or needles
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Shhaing all the world
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you join us
And the world will live as one.
John Lennon was a dreamer, and he advocated a lifestyle that leaned toward making his dreams come true. In that sense I am a dreamer, choosing to believe that good nutrition and exercise will help me to live the life I choose to live, rather than living a life focused on injections, medication adjustments, and fear of degeneration. I would rather do this naturally, and live as well as I can. I'm grateful to be able to make this choice.
For me, it would be Sachmo's "What a Wonderful World." It's how I think of the world even when I think it has passed me by. It's how I envision the world in my kids' eyes.
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteYes, What a Wonderful World is a great song ... I began hearing his voice singing it as I read your words...
